Shirin Shakhesi is an Iranian-Australian new media artist and animator, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Animation from the University of Melbourne. Her practice bridges animation, video installation, digital painting, and motion design, exploring the intersections of cultural identity, memory, and environmental perception.
Blurring the boundaries between narrative and abstraction, Shirin creates immersive visual experiences that engage audiences on both sensory and conceptual levels. Her work often reflects on the complexities of diasporic experience and psychological space.

Her animated films and experimental media works have been presented at leading festivals and institutions, including the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF), and the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA).
